WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling can often be referred to as a talking therapy. There are many different types of counselling. It is essentially a safe place for people to talk about any problems, or feelings they might be finding difficult. It is an opportunity to talk things through in a non judgemental environment. Counsellors don't tell you what to do, and aren't able to give you advice or answers. However they can enable you to gain an understanding of your situation, or feelings. People usually come to counselling when they wish to change something about their lives. Often by talking things through people are able to develop an emotional tool kit, or find solutions which helps empower them to move forward with their lives. Whether you are an adult, or child counselling can be beneficial if you are ready to make changes in your life.
